Public Service is defined as promoting the quality of life in a community, through both political and non-political processes. The Lieutenant Governor’s Public Service Award honors an individual who has improved their community through public service. Minimum qualifications are 5 years of continuous or near continuous service. This can include serving in a public service role (professional or volunteer capacity) as well as advocacy efforts, awareness campaigns, and community organizing and activism.

To uphold the fairness and integrity of the Utah Philanthropy Day award selection process, individuals currently serving on the event’s Steering Committee are not eligible for main award nominations. We warmly encourage nominations for these individuals in the Heart & Hands or Corporate Community Champion categories instead, where their contributions can still be meaningfully recognized.
